Agreement

By downloading, accessing, or using Shadow, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use Shadow.

What Shadow Is

Shadow is a self-awareness and emotional tracking tool. It helps you log your emotional states, identify patterns, and build self-reflection habits.

Shadow is NOT:

• A medical device
• A therapeutic or counseling service
• A substitute for professional mental health care
• A crisis intervention tool

If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please contact emergency services or a crisis helpline in your area.

Your Account

• You must be at least 13 years old to use Shadow
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account
• One account per person

Acceptable Use

You agree to use Shadow only for its intended purpose. You will not:

• Attempt to access other users' data
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
• Use the service for any illegal purpose
• Interfere with the operation of the service
• Attempt to circumvent security measures
• Use automated systems to access the service

Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you create in Shadow (entries, brain dumps, etc.). By using Shadow, you grant us a limited license to:

• Store your content on our servers
• Sync your content across your devices
• Process your content to provide app features (like pattern detection)
• Create backups for data protection

We do not read, share, or sell the content of your entries.

Subscriptions & Payments

Free Features

Basic features of Shadow are available for free.

Premium Subscription

• Premium features require an active subscription
• Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date
• You can manage subscriptions in your App Store account settings

Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be made through Apple according to their refund policies.

Price Changes

We may change subscription prices. Existing subscribers will be notified of price changes before their next renewal.

Intellectual Property

Shadow, including its code, design, branding, and content (excluding user-generated content), is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without permission.

Disclaimers

The following disclaimers apply to the maximum extent permitted by law:

• Shadow is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• We do not guarantee that the service will meet your specific needs
• We are not responsible for any decisions you make based on app data
• Insights and patterns are generated automatically and may not be accurate

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of Shadow.

Termination

By you: You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. This will permanently delete your data.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if required by law. We will attempt to notify you before termination unless prohibited by law.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of Shadow after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Australia.
